Philips Hue is undisputed as the best smart lights on the market. They’re also some of the priciest.
Their “White Ambiance” bulbs are the ones that will step down from daylight white to warmer yellow. They’re less expensive than the full-color Philips bulbs, but keep in mind that you’ll need a hub.
If you’re just getting started with Philips Hue – check out this starter kit. It has a hub and four White Ambiance bulbs.
If you’ve already got a Philips Hue hub, you can buy the White Ambiances in a two pack here.
Treatlife makes bulbs with a decent color range (2500K-6500K) for way, way, way cheaper.
They also don’t require a hub.
I haven’t had the chance to test these bulbs yet, but the reviews are insanely good considering the price – a few people have reported connection issues but nearly everybody says it’s a seamless setup with Alexa.
If you’re looking to do your whole house on a budget, and don’t want to fiddle with third party hubs, these strike me as the best bet for tuning your lights to natures sleeping patterns.
